Saving & Versioning

Incremental save

Use the K-Pipe save action instead of the DCC's native save to create a new version:

• Each save increments the version number: v001 → v002 → v003
• Previous versions are kept — nothing is overwritten

The shortcut and menu location for incremental save varies by DCC. See the DCC guides.

Regular save

You can still use the DCC's native save (Ctrl+S) to save over the current version without incrementing. Use this for quick saves during active work.

Version history

The K-Pipe panel shows a list of all workfile versions for the current shot/task. You can open any previous version from there.

Warning

Opening an old version and saving will create a new version from that point — it does not overwrite the versions in between.
